Condemning the thrashing of female nurse by Akali Sarpanch at Moga, Spokesman of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sukhpal Singh Khaira termed it as another classic example of politicisation of police by Akalis, as the accused were let free by the police after slapping a weak case against them.Thrashing of the woman Nurse Ramandeep Kaur was not a ‘courageous’ act, but shows the cowardness of Akalis, Khaira said instead of delivering justice to victims, Cops booked the accused in very weak sections (451, 323 ) of IPC.This was not an isolated case of Akalis’ ‘Goondagardi’ as earlier a woman sarpanch was mercilessly beaten by an Akali leader at Lambi, constituency of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and even the then Education Minister Sikandar Singh Malooka himself indulged in beating of protesting teachers, in front of Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

Even this shameful act of Akalis at Moga could have gone un-noticed, if the CCTV Cameras installed in the hospital would not have the recording, which went viral on social media, Khaira added.Accusing the Police officers of acting like Akali Jathedars to do anything illegal to please their political bosses, Khaira demanded that accused Akali leaders should be booked under sections 452 and 354 of Indian Penal Code.Khaira said that this behaviour of Akalis has undermined the image of Punjab worldwide and has created fear among the peace-loving public of state.“Who would like to invest in Punjab under the prevailing deteriorated law & order situation? Khaira quipped adding that rather even the existing industry of Punjab would shift its base to other states in fear of Akali goons.Punjab Police has virtually turned into the private army of Sukhbir Badal, Khaira alleged claiming that days of Akali Government is already numbered and within four months, AAP would form the government to provide justice to the “Aam Aadmi” (Commanman) of Punjab.It is pertinent to mention here that an Akali Sarpanch and his son had thrashed a woman nurse Ramandeep Kaur at Moga. The entire incident which took place at a hospital in Moga’s Bagha Purana town, was captured by the CCTV cameras installed there.
