The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today strongly condemned the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Jalandhar and said that such heinous acts deserve widespread condemnation and persons indulging in such acts should be given exemplary punishment.Speaking to the media-persons at Dana Mandi Apra here today on the occasion of sangat darshan of Phillaur and Rurka Kalan blocks, the Deputy Chief Minister further said that after the ongoing police recruitments there would be no dearth of police personnel in the police stations. Disclosing more, he said that the Sewa Kendars are proving to be game changers in providing government services to the people who are availing these in a corruption free and hassle free manner.Divulging more on the developmental front, S. Badal said that Punjab government has decided to open 2700 medical stores to provide free of cost medicines to the needy people.Besides that, with an aim to provide skilled force to the industry in the state, the government has also sanctioned to construct 250 Skill development centres at block level to train one Lakh youth.

Terming Punjab as a preferred investment destination across the  nation , the Deputy chief minister said that the government has started the projects to the tune of Rs. 30000 crore to connect all major cities with 4 lanes and these projects would be completed in 18 months . Besides that in next two months all link roads in the state would be strengthen with Rs. 600 crore .Describing the newly passed bill to provide interest free loan upto 50,000 as a milestone to bail out the farming community from agrarian crisis, Mr.Badal said that Punjab is the first state across the nation to initiate these kind of welfare schemes.Earlier, S. Badal distributed grants for developmental projects to 81 village panchayats of blocks Phillaur and Rurka Kalan and assured them that no dearth of funds would be allowed to hamper the progress oriented initiatives. On the demand of the people, he also ordered the officials to frame a proposal regarding bus stands at Goraya and Phillaur.Among others present on the occasion included Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister- Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Incharge Halqa Phillaur Baldev Singh Khaira, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar K.K.Yadav, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Girish Dayalan and others.
