Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today reviewed the progress under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana SAGY and the MPLADS schemes.Under the SAGY, Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the developmental works underway in  village Mathwar .The District Panchayat Officer apprised that Mathwar will be the first Open Defecation Free (ODF) Panchayat in Jammu as 260 toilets, out of a target of 401, have been constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) in convergence with the CSR funds given by the Idea group.The DDC directed BDO, Mathwar, to ensure completion of  the remaining 141 toilets by December, 2016, so that the area is formally declared ODF.

The ACD, Jammu informed that 85 IAY houses have been sanctioned in Mathwar making it the first Panchayat to qualify for 'Housing for All' scheme The DDC directed to ensure that said 85 houses are constructed in a time bound manner.Further, decisions were taken to renovate all 13 ponds and to construct the boundary walls in all 86 High Schools of Mathwar, under convergence mode.The DDC reviewed the progress of different departments under MPLADS in respect of the grants released by Member Parliaments, Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma and Mr. Shamsher Singh Manhas.The DDC appreciated PWD; PDD and JMC for registering more than 90% expenditure and asked for optimally utilising the funds for providing better facilities to the people.The DDC directed the concerned for immediately forwarding of UCs to Government of India for release of next installments.
