Distt Adm makes fire extinguishers mandatory for business establishments

District administration Ramban has  made it mandatory for all the  commercial establishments and shops to install fire extinguishers   in order to control fire incidents. Also a three member committees has been constituted to monitor the installation of these equipments across the district This decision was taken during a meeting convened here today by District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz with the officers of the fire services, revenue, Municipal Committees and representatives of Beopar Mandal.It was given out in the meeting that Deputy Director Fire Services shall head the committees constituted for Batote, Ramban and Banihal with concerned  Tehsildars and Executive Officers of Municipal Committees as its member while for Gool Block Development Officer shall be the one of the member.

The committees shall sensitize the local business owner and shopkeepers for installation of equipments in their respective units in order to avert any fire incidence.Meanwhile, one month time has been given to the committees to complete implementation of the order at tehsil and block levels.The District Development Commissioner also instructed the Executive Officers to ensure installation of  fire extinguisher be made one of the prerequisite in their registration certificate or license of the business establishments  and no such document shall be renewed before fulfilling the adhering norms by the business owner.The meeting among others was attended by Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services, Mohd Qasim Bajran Tehsildar Ramban, Gurpreet Singh, Executive Officer Zahida Parveen, Presidents Beopar and representatives of NGO.
