Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today reiterated his promise to punish all those responsible for the sacrilege at Behbal Kallan and other places like Bath near here saying his government will order reinvestigation to find out the real culprits.Addressing a massive political conference organised here today, Capt Amarinder said, he will ensure that the resignation by the party MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki to protest against the issue did not go waste. The PCC president blamed the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for all such incidents saying there was a deliberate design in all this as Mr Badal wanted to polarise people and create a sense of fear for his narrow partisan ends. "And I will ensure that he is made to pay for all these sins", he said, while adding, he will make all of them including Mr Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia to crawl on their knees to atone for their sins. The former Chief Minister said, the Badals have destroyed and devastated Punjab beyond redemption and it will need quite an effort to retrieve and redeem the situation. "I will work 25 out of 24 hours to redeem the situation and bring back the smile on every Punjabis' face", he said adding, "I want to see a happy, progressive and prosperous Punjab once again".

Capt Amarinder reiterated his pledge to finish the problem of drugs within four weeks telling people everybody knew as who was the kingpin and who was the mastermind. "You know it and I know it and I won't need even four weeks to set them right and put them behind the bars", he said amidst thundering applause from a thirty thousand plus crowd that had gathered here to listen to him.Responding to the demand of the former MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki for cancellation of all the false cases, he said, not only will all the cases be cancelled, but those responsible for getting such cases registered will also be punished including the Akali Jathedars and the police officials. "We have had enough persecution and now is the time to turn the tables and I promise you I will avenge all your persecution and atrocities myself", he said, while declaring that he will set an example so that nobody dares to harass, victimise or persecute the Congress workers again. He also announced that all the social welfare schemes which have been promised to the members of the Scheduled Castes community will be extended to the OBCs and the landless farmers and labourers also. These include Shagun scheme and 300 units of free power also.Condemning Chief Minister Badal for lying that nobody can waive off the farmers' debts, he said, just because he (Badal) being insensitive and incompetent could not do it does not mean nobody else can do it. "I have done it in my previous tenure and I will do it again", he said, adding no farmer's land will be taken away as the government will repay all the debts whether these be from the banks or the aarthiyas (commission agents).

Kejriwal does not know Sikh history:

Later talking to reporters Capt Amarinder ridiculed the Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Arvind Kejriwal for not organising any programme at Khadoor Sahab today. "That is why I have been always saying that they neither know nor can they understand Punjabi culture and history", he said in reply to a question.

Sidhu fits better in comedy show:

Asked about Navjot Singh Sidhu opting out of the political contest, Capt Amarinder remarked, "he (Sidhu) must have realised that he fits better in a comedy show than anywhere else including politics". He said, he had always been insisting that Sidhu will hardly be able to form a credible and viable political party and today he had vindicated his stand.Prominent among those present included Rana Gurjeet Singh, Raja Warring, Ramanjit Singh Sikki, Gurchet Bhullar, Sukhpal Bhullar, Harmandir Gill, Dharamvir Agnihotri, Ms Mamta Dutta and others.
