DC reviews arrangements for Navratra, Dussehra

Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Niraj Kumar, today held a meeting with the district officers and prominent citizens  to review the arrangements for the upcoming Navratra and Dussehra festivals..While addressing the meeting, the DC stressed upon the Police Department to make adequate security arrangements during the occasion and asked Chief Medical Officer to deploy a team of doctors along with an ambulance for providing necessary healthcare facilities. Besides, Executive Engineer PHE was asked to ensure regular supply of drinking water and barricading at the venue while the Executive Engineer EM & RE was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival.Stressing on maintaining cleanliness in the town, the DDC directed the CEO MC to take necessary steps in this regard and also sought the cooperation of prominent citizens in keeping the town clean. Besides, a committee comprising Tehsildar , Assistant Director FCS & CA ,CEO Municipality and Food Safety Officer was constituted  to conduct regular visits to the market to prevent  any overcharging by the shopkeepers.

Meanwhile, the shopkeepers were asked to display the rate lists of all the essential commodities for the information of general public.Further, the Traffic department was directed to deploy adequate number of traffic personnel at traffic jam prone areas to avoid any traffic congestion during the festival while the Information department was asked to give wide publicity to all the events being carried out during the nine day long festival and Dussehra.Additional Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana, ASP ML Kainth, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chander Prakash, PO DRDA Jagdish C. Mehra, Executive Engineers of various departments, CEO MC Santosh Kotwal, AD  FCS & CA Harun Naik, Tehsildar, AC  Metrology, AD Fire & Emergency Officer,  In-Charge Sports stadium besides President of Beopar mandal, President Chamber Of Commerce, and members of Dussehra Committee Udhampur were present in the meeting.
