District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda   chaired the  District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of officers of banks and concerned departments to discuss the achievements of banking sector in deposits and advances here today.It was informed in the meeting that up to June 2016, deposits worth Rs.295251 lakh have been recorded while Rs.144599 lakh have been released under advance sector.While chairing the meeting, Sheetal Nanda briefly discussed and reviewed progress of various departments like, KVIB, KVIC, DIC, Employment, Agriculture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, etc. under various schemes like PMJDY, PMSBY, APY, PMEGP, NRLM, NULM, PMAY and others.Lead Bank Manager, Veer Ji Koul gave  a detailed account of the performance of Banks,  under agriculture advances, priority sectors, weaker sections and credit flow to women beneficiaries.The Chairman expressed concern over slow progress of banks in achieving targets of CD ratio and poor performance in credits in Agriculture sector. She directed the banks to take effective measures for ensuring loans in Agriculture sector so that majority of the population would be facilitated under various schemes. She asked DDM NABARD to create more self help groups of women and youth for providing job opportunities to them. DDC also instructed bankers to provide educational loans well in time to students seeking admission in various professional and other courses in or outside the state.

DDC directed the bankers to provide check lists to all concerned departments for proper sponsoring of loan case. She also asked them to conduct Financial Literacy Camps especially in rural areas to make people aware about different farmer friendly and other financial assistance schemes. She also asked all the banks to contribute effectively in making people aware of government schemes.DDC further advised the sponsoring agencies to conduct awareness camps in the villages especially in far flung and border areas to expand their orbit so that more people are educated, motivated and facilitated to initiate self employment enterprises. She stressed on reaching out people to provide them the benefits of various schemes like Stand Up India, Start Up India, Mudra etc. She also asked the concerned to expedite the process of Aadhaar seeding in the districtAmong others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Samba, Chaman Lal, senior concerned officers of various departments, representatives of RBI, NABARD and other banks.
