Govt initiates inquiry into Pulwama misappropriation allegation

Acting swiftly on  the allegations of misappropriation of ration under Mufti Mohammad Food Entitlement Scheme quota in Pulwama,Minister for Food, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has placed under suspension  Assistant Director   and two  Tehsil Supply Officers  besides ordering inquiry into the allegation. Mushtaq Ahmed, Assistant Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Pulwama, Mohammad Amin, Tehsil Supply Officer Awantipora, Ghulam Mohammad Rather, Tehsil Supply Officer  Granary Pulwama have been suspended with immediate effect. Assistant Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Shopian shall hold the charge of Pulwama till further ordersMeanwhile two member Committee headed by Director Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Kashmir  and Director Finance of Administrative Department has  been directed to investigate the ration quota of Pulwama particularly for  the month of July, August and September. They have been directed to submitted the report within 10 days.The Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that government will not  spare  anybody found guilty of misappropriation of ration. He said that officers have already been directed  to remain vigilant and provide the ration to the people in most transparent manner and reiterated that strict action will be taken against any laxity in this regard

The Minister  said that the Department is directly connected with the poor people of the state and adequate steps will be taken to safeguard their right.
