Stating that the government wants to resolve the Kashmir issue through a peaceful dialogue process, Secretary, Sports Council and PDP Youth President, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra on Thursday said that the persons who introduced the pellet guns in the state by claiming it non-lethal are making hue and cry today over its use.Talking to KNS correspondent, Parra said that the people who are making hue and cry over the use of pellet guns against the protesters introduced the weapon during their tenure in 2010 and claimed that it is non-lethal. “However, the same persons are taking streets today and are claiming that the weapon is lethal,” he said.

He said that the government doesn’t want to talk with the people on the barrel of the gun but want to resolve their issue with a peaceful dialogue process. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has maintained that he want a permanent solution of Kashmir issue. Several leaders from Government of India visited Kashmir a few days back and it was like India in Kashmir. The leaders tried to meet separatists but they closed the doors,” he said.

Parra said despite closing the doors, the leaders didn’t show arrogance and pitched for a dialogue process.PDP leader said that previous governments have also initiated a dialogue process but today “we need to create such kind of environment to initiate the process for which the government in both central and state are working.”He said separatists have also maintained that a dialogue should be initiated. “There is still time to initiate the process to resolve the issue once for all,” he said.
