Abdul Haq Khan inspects development works in Reasi

Minister of Rural Development, Abdul Haq today conducted whirlwind tour of district Reasi and inspected works under MGNREGA and other schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department.Accompanied by Director Rural Development Jammu Pardeep Kumar, SE REW Jammu Rajesh Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Reasi Suram Chand Sharma besides other district and Block Level Officers, the Minister inspected various works at Dagantop, Budhan, Chaklass, Mahore, Arnas and interacted with the people on the way upto Reasi. He also conducted a series of public meetings where people projected various demands for RDD works. Mr. Khan issued on spot instructions to the ACD Reasi for early mitigation of public demands regarding development works.

Addressing a public meeting, Haq Khan reiterated the commitment of the present dispensation to provide basic amenities to the rural populace at their door steps adding that sufficient funds are being provided under MGNREGA, 13th and 14th FC , IAY , SBM(G) and other programs for the purpose. He enjoined upon the Rural Development functionaries to prioritize works under focused areas as already notified and ensure optimum utilization of funds for creation of durable assets under MGNREGA convergence. He also issued instructions to the district administration for upgradation from Salal Dam to Narlu Bridge at the earliest.District Development Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, ADC Reasi Shiv Kumar Gupta CEO Reasi and other District officers were also present on the occasion.
