Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements, developmental scenario at Budgam

Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited Budgam and took stock of the arrangements to be put in place by the District Administration in view of ensuing auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Azha.Chairing the meeting of officers,  the Minister discussed threadbare the availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar and K.oil, transport arrangements, cleanliness of Mosques and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and repairs and renovation of street lights and roads.Giving brief account of arrangements, District Development Commissioner, Mir Altaf Ahmed informed the meeting that AD Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) has been directed to ensure the availability and distribution of essential commodities including Rice, Sugar & LPG for the distribution among the consumers well before the festival and make sure that people are getting essential items at fair rates. 

He informed that the PDD and PHE departments have  been directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festival.The Deputy Commissioner further informed the meeting that the concerned departments have been directed to intensify  market checking to check the illegal profiteering and hoardings of essentials on daily basis during these days, adding that  a squad has also been constituted in this regard.It was decided in the meeting that a joint control room in the Office of SSP, Budgam with helpline No 01951-255012 would be established to redress the grievances of people with regard to essential services.Reviewing the pace of developmental projects being executed under core sectors in district, the Minister appreciated the efforts of District Administration for initiating measures for fulfilling the aspirations of the common people who presently are facing tough time owing to prevailing circumstances in Valley, adding that present situation is the test of our capabilities, potential and courage so we have to work with outmost dedication and zeal  to deliver on ground.MLC, Mr. Saifudin Bhat, SSP Budgam, Mr. Abdul Wahid Shah and other district officers attended the meeting.
