While strongly condemning killing of Musaib Mujeeb of Sonwani and Naseer Ahmad of Seer Hamdan, MLA Langate Er Rashid Tuesday accused Narendra Modi of promising laptops but acting by silencing the youth with shells and bullets. In a statement, Er Rashid said that “state terrorism” is at its worst and security agencies have been given a free hand to kill Kashmiris especially by targeting youth and teen agers.“There is no justification to the killing of 17-year-old Musaib Majeed and the fact is that CRPF posted in Agriculture College, Wadoora Sopore had been sending stern warnings in the areas surrounding the camp and were just in search of an excuse to do the untoward incident,” Rashid said.“There are dozens of examples when security agencies have crossed all the limits and provoked youth for stone pelting, so that their quest for sucking blood of Kashmiri youth could be fulfilled.”

“Musaib’s murder,” Rashid said, “should be eye-opener for those who were giving overdue publicity to Modi’s sermon of giving laptop to Kashmiri students but Modi’s tall claims have been exposed as the vicious operation to target youth gained momentum immediately after his sermon, as if he was using code language by saying laptop but meaning bullets.”Can anyone justify the killing, thye lawmaker said, by saying that Musaib had been doing stone pelting for money, “as his academic record is so meritorious that he would have been one among the shining stars of Kashmir but Modi’s laptop shaped bullet silenced him once for all”.Er Rashid warned authorities of dire consequences if personnel of CRPF camp at Wadoora don’t mend their ways.He asked Sopore police to lodge FIR against the culprits or be prepared to face the public resentment. The Langate legislator also condemned use of force to disperse Itihaad e Millat Conference in Supernaghama and ransacking the houses in the area.Er Rashid said that such actions have exposed the govt claims of allowing peaceful protests.
