Accusing Delhi AAP MLA for defaming the women of Punjab by levelling false allegations against the women, Head of the women wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Prof Baljinder Kaur today lodged a complaint with Punjab Women Commission against him. A delegation led by Prof Baljinder Kaur, who is also AAP’s candidate from Talwandi Sabo met Chairperson of Punjab Women Commission Paramjit Kaur Landra and lodged a formal complaint against Delhi MLA  Devender Sehrawat. Prof. Baljidner Kaur said that she was hurt after reading a letter by Delhi MLA to National Convenor of the party Arvind Kejriwal in an attempt to defame the women of Punjab and the news reports published/broadcast on different newspapers and TV channels have multiplied the ‘act of defamation’ by Sehrawat. It was an attempt by Sehrawat to deliberately undermine the image of women by accusing the most honest and dedicated AAP leaders without having any evidence in support of his allegations, Prof Kaur said demanding strict legal action against Sehrawat.

 Delegation of Women leaders include Party Spokesperson Yamini Gaumer, Rajwinder Kaur of Jalandhar and several women leaders.“Col Sehrawat has a history of criticising AAP leaders ever since he has joined the party on one pretext or another”, she added. Prof Baljinder Kaur said that the party gave him (Col Sehrawat) party ticket in Delhi assembly elections in 2013, which he lost and again in 2014, when he was given ticket he lost the poll in a second consecutive defeat. In 2015 also, party reposed faith in him and ultimately he won.“Party continuously reposed faith in him but he has never been loyal to the party in the same manner”, she alleged.
