Two held with foreign currency at Kolkata airport

Two people were held at the airport here on Sunday for travelling with foreign currencies valued at Rs 8.60 lakh without valid documents, a customs official said.The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) intercepted the two Bangkok-bound passengers. "We have seized a total of $13,000 equivalent to Rs 8,60,600 from the two passengers. One is from Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) and the other from Ambala (Haryana). Both were headed to Bangkok and were to board a Bhutan Airlines flight," said the official.
