Punjab Government Enhances The Allocation Of Funds From Rs.1977 Cr To Rs. 2117.69 Cr.

Total 488660 different works have already been executed throughout the state

With a view to accomplish various development projects under Mukh Mantri Pendu Vikas Yojna (Rural Mission), the Punjab government has enhanced the allocation of funds from Rs. 1977 Cr to Rs. 2117.69 Cr.Disclosing this here today Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Sikander Singh Maluka pointed out that till date the funds to the tune of Rs. 1493.10 cr. Have been released and a total number of 488660 different works have already been executed throughout the state. He said that this unique development mission was launched to provide basic amenities as well as social services. He said that for the better execution as well as monitoring of various development projects being undertaken district level committees have also been form under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of the concerned districts. 

These committees were compromise of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Additional deputy Commissioner (G), District Development and Panchayats officer, Deputy Chief Executive officer, Zila Prishad and these were directed to ensure quality and speedy works.Minister further said that under the rural mission basic amenities like Roads, bridges, surface transport, setting up of rural infrastructure, water supply, sewerage, drainage system, internal roads, street lights, solid waste management, parks and grounds etc. were being provided in villages.He also said that under this scheme Panchayati Raj Institutions have been authorized to undertake any development project. Beside this concerned panchayat is also entitled to give administrative approval for development to the tune of Rs. 10 lac, Panchayat Samitis have been authorized to give administrative approval for the development projects of worth Rs. 10 lac to 20 lac while Zila Prishads have the right to grant administrative prroval for the development works of woth Rs. more than twenty lac.
