A delegation of Senior Congress Leaders and Legislators from Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions led by JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir called on All Party Parliamentary Delegation, which is being led by Union Home Minister Shri. Rajnath Singh, in Srinagar today.Congress delegation while welcoming the Parliamentary Delegation expressed gratitude to Central Leaders for their concern about the wellbeing of the State of Jammu and Kashmir and it’s people.Congress delegation, threadbare, discussed the overall situation obtaining in the valley and briefed the Leaders about the current upsurge and losses caused in the backdrop of protests erupted across the valley.Deliberating on the overall situation obtaining in the State, the State Congress leaders apprised the Central leaders about the turbulent situation due to the loss of precious lives. They also briefed them about the huge number of injured people, who are under treatment in different Hospitals.The leaders stressed that both State and Central Govt should take serious & proactive measures to put an end to the current unrest. There is a need to adopt well planned strategy to resolve the issues politically, besides serious efforts must be put in place to address the grievances of the people.

Referring to the decade’s long Kashmir issue, the JKPCC delegation stated that Kashmir is a political issue and shall have to be addressed politically rather than militarily. Centre Govt must initiate a sustained meaningful dialogue with all stake holders in the State keeping inview the aspirations of Jammu and Ladakh regions also.The delegation emphasized that the recommendations of interlocutors and round-table conferences held under the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan should be the basis of dialogue process, as that will be a viable roadmap to resolve the issue.Briefing the Media after meeting Parliamentary Delegation, JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir said that both State and Central Govt have failed to restore peace, even after passing of 57 days there is no improvement on the ground, the regular incidents of casualties have vitiated the atmosphere to a largest extent, as a result the situation is completely unpredictable and dangerous , he said.Terming the present crisis as an outcome of the mishandling of the situation and wrong policies of both State and Centre Govt. he said both the Govts have miserably failed to bring back normalcy, which is not only unfortunate, but also reflects the lack any policy to deal with the situations on their part, Mir said.

He urged upon both State and Central Govt not to waste more time and make serous efforts to bring back normalcy in the valley.Among others who were part of the Congress Delegation included Former PCC President Peerzada Mohd.
