China's Xi Jinping urges G20 to offer remedies to boost world economy

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday inaugurated the Group of 20 (G20) summit in Hangzhou city and urged the leaders of major economies to prescribe remedies for the sluggish world economy.Xi made the remarks while addressing the opening of an annual G20 summit.As the leader of the world's second largest economy, Xi offered five proposals to buttress the global economic growth, Xinhua news agency reported.Firstly, he said, G20 members should strengthen their coordination in macroeconomic policies, jointly promote growth and safeguard financial stability.Secondly, G20 members should innovate their growth patterns and explore new growth engines, he said.Thirdly, G20 members should improve global economic governance and mechanism guarantee as well.Fourthly, G20 members should build an open world economy and continue to promote the liberalisation and facilitation of trade and investment.Lastly, Xi added, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development shouldomote inclusive growth.
