No way to ignore separatists in Kashmir: Hakim Muhammad Yasin

“Visit of All Party Delegation can yield positive results, if ground realities are accepted”

Stating that there was no way to ignore separatists in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin Friday said the visit of All Party Delegation would yield positive results only if the ground realities are accepted.In a press statement Hakim Yasin reiterated his demand to New Delhi to hold a meaningful and time bound dialogue with separatists to resolve Kashmir issue. “All Party Delegation is coming to Kashmir and it includes veteran politicians of India including Dr Karan Singh, Sitaram Yechuri, Sharad Yadav and others. They are aware of the ground realities of Kashmir and we hope the delegation will not let down Kashmiris this time,” he said.The PDF chief said that the visit of the delegation can prove a good omen if the ground realities of Kashmir are taken into consideration. “There is no other way than to talk to separatists. A meaningful and a time bound dialogue with all stakeholders is the only way out to settle the vexed Kashmir issue once for all,” the MLA Khansahib said.The PDF chief said that people in Kashmir have expectations that All Party Delegation will take bold steps and announce some formula to settle the issue. “If they fail to do so, it will be a disaster. 

We hope that the visit of the delegation will not go 2010 way,” he added.Hakim Yasin said unless the root cause of the problem, which is Kashmir issue is not addressed, the situation won’t improve. “Apparently the situation may improve for some time with cosmetic measures but in the long run, unless Kashmir problem isn’t addressed according to the aspirations of its people, the present situation will re-occur again and again,” he warned. The PDF chief said the “Agenda of Alliance” reached between the PDP and the BJP states that dialogue will be held with both separatists and Pakistan. “If “Agenda of Alliance” exists, then what is stopping the Central and State governments from holding dialogue with Pakistan and separatists on Kashmir,” he asked.The MLA Khansahib said PDP justified its alliance with BJP by saying they did so to address the core issue of Kashmir. “Where have its (PDP’s) promises of protecting the life and dignity of Kashmir’s gone. If (Kashmir) isn’t solved the uncertainty will increase and so will violence and killings. People are feeling insecure due to unnecessary killings and it is the duty of the government to instil confidence among the people,” he added. (CNS)
