He said that the Congress party deprived the state of its capital, Punjabi speaking areas and legitimate share of river waters. Mr. Badal said that it was on record that ever since re-organization of states has taken place Punjab was the only parent state which has been denied capital to it. “Even after making a promise to hand over capital to Punjab the Congress government had backtracked from it and deprived Punjab of Chandigarh”, he added. However, the Chief Minister said that as a true custodian of rights of Punjabis the SAD-BJP alliance government has been constantly trying to get all these issues resolved. He said that they have been flagging up these issues time and again with Union government and hoped that the NDA Government would undo the grave injustice done with state. Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that the hands of Congress were drenched with the conspiracy to rob the state of its water by planning and executing the digging of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal. Slamming the Congress leaders for misleading the people on SYL canal issue, he said that his government had never supported the construction of this canal. Mr. Badal said that throughout his life he had struggled hard to safeguard the interests of the state and its people. On another query, the Chief Minister said that the announcement of Congress leaders to resign, if any judgment against the interests of state on SYL was given by Apex court, was nothing more than a political gimmick. He said that this tantrum was futile adding that Congress was the main perpetrator of this conspiracy to snatch waters of state and now its leaders were trying to attain martyr status by indulging in this mimicry. “Only three months are left for term of this assembly to expire so Congress leaders just want to mislead the people by indulging in such tantrum”, he added. Asked to comment on resignation by Delhi Minister in wake of release of CD, the Chief Minister said that this incident has exposed the real face of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which claims itself to a party with high moral value and character. He said that AAP leadership was bereft of any ideological commitment and morality. “They just make tall statements and hollow promises to mislead the people but in reality they were lacking character”, added Mr. Badal. The Chief Minister said that AAP government in Delhi, which had failed on all fronts, was a testimony to fact that they just attain power by showing green pastures to people and dump them after attaining power. Mr. Badal dared AAP leadership to list any single pro-people initiative taken by their government in Delhi. He said that wise people of state would not fell prey to tantrums of these leaders and would definitely teach them a lesson in ensuing polls.
