B B Vyas reviews progress on major developmental projects

Financial Commissioner, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, B B Vyas, Wednesday reviewed progress on some major ongoing development projects under implementation in Jammu region.Commissioner Secretary, PDD, Dheeraj Gupta, Secretary, PHE and I&FC, Sanjeev Verma, Secretary Tourism, Farooq Ahmad Shah and other senior officers were present in the meeting.Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh and other officers participated in the meeting from Jammu via video conferencing.The projects reviewed in the meeting are at various stages of implementation and issues with regard to expediting the work, removing bottlenecks and funds requirement were discussed in the meeting.

The projects reviewed include expansion of Jammu Airport, extension of Ravi Canal, Chenab River Water Supply Scheme, Ring road, Bikram Chowk Fly over, 4 lane Jammu-Akhnoor road, new medical colleges, multilevel parkings, New Legislature Complex, Barrage-cum-Tawi Lake, Nikki Tawi Bridge, Tawi River Front Development, etc.Mr Vyas stressed on all the executing agencies concerned to focus on completing these critical development projects within the stipulated time, so that expected benefits from these initiatives start reaching people.“We are required to proactively follow each project and ensure that it moves on track and gaps don’t exist between the decisions taken and their implementation” Mr Vyas added.
