Secretary Tourism convenes interactive meet with Tour, Travel operators

Farooq Ahmed Shah, Secretary to Government Tourism Department today convened an interactive meeting with Tour and Travel Operators of Jammu Province.Sushma Chouhan, Director Tourism Jammu, Er. S.K Attri Dy. Director Tourism (Publicity), Jammu were present in the meeting.Secretary Tourism while giving patient hearing to the various demands put forth by Tour and Travel operators took a detailed feedback and suggestions from the representatives of travel and trade associations from Jammu, Katra, Patnitop and Bhaderwah.  He assured that the suggestions presented by them would be given due attention and requisite measures will be taken in the phased manner to further boost the tourism sector. To further increase tourist influx in  the state, Secretary  informed  that series of  road shows will be organized in Lukhnow, Kanpur and other 2 tier cities besides the metropolitan cities in association with Travel trade associations in coming months.Regarding the status of various tourism infrastructural projects, he said that execution of all ongoing projects has been fast tracked. 

Regarding Jammu Ropeway Project he said that it will be completed by 2018 and work on light and sound show at Bagh-e-Bahu will be started soon. Purmandal and Utterbehni will be developed on lines of Kashi and  amusement park under PPP mode will be developed at Sidhra, Jammu ,he added.Among others who attended the meeting were  Rajesh Gupta Chairman Tourism Federation of Jammu, Rakesh Wazir President HRA Katra,  Amrik Singh President JATO, Jatinder Koul President TAAJ, Inderjeet Khajuria  President ADTOJ, B.B Kotwal  Bhaderwah Travel Trade Association and  President HRA Patnitop, President AJTA and others.Later, Secretary Tourism took the reviewed the functioning of   various  Tourism Development Authorities. He impressed upon the CEO’s of Tourism Development Authorities and officers of Tourism Department to ensure time bound completion of various ongoing developmental projects in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
