DC Pulwama reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer Ul Islam, today chaired an officers meeting to take stock of arrangements for upcoming auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.The  review meeting was attended by the officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, PDD, PHE, R&B, Municipal Committee, Police, Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Health, Horticulture and Transport Department.It was given out that sufficient stock of essential commodities of rice, sugar, kerosene oil and LPG is available in the sale centers of the district.The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of PDD, PHE & Municipal Committee Pulwama to provide uninterrupted power and drinking water supply to the people besides ensuring cleanliness at the places of congregation on Eid days. 

The onus of providing sacrificial animals and monitoring their prices was laid upon the District Officer for Sheep Husbandry.Meanwhile, keeping in view the peak season of fruits, the Deputy Commissioner assured the fruit growers of district Pulwama that a transport facility will be put in place to ferry the fruits to different markets within or outside the state.During the meeting a review of the ongoing developmental works in the district was also held and officers were directed to prepare the budget estimates for financial year 2017-18.
