 The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister  Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked the Principal Secretary Home to place the services of Mr. Dharm Singh Uppal, SP/D, Nawanshehar under suspension with immediate effect. The order of his suspension has been issued after the reports that he intimidated the witnesses of a Lovely University African student assault case in which his own son has been named accused.The Deputy Chief Minister recommending major penalty for the erring officer issued strict warning that no police officer/ official would be allowed to take law in his hand.Meanwhile, the headquarter of Mr. Uppal during suspension has been shifted to Chandigarh
