Expressing serious concern over the increasing hate between the Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits during the Kashmir unrest, Congress today called for united struggle against the communal politics of the BJP in the state. Congress leader Salman Nizami said "The BJP for its own interests is trying hard to divide Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits on communal lines. For furthering their communal agenda, BJP Supporters like Anupam Kher, Ashoke Pandit are now in the forefront to spew venom. He said that at present there are thousands of Kashmiri Pandits living in Kashmir with their Muslim brethren across the valley. Many Kashmiri Pandits are running their hotels, schools, colleges and business establishments in Kashmir and face absolutely no problem while living here,” he maintained.  Despite so much outrage and anger Kashmir has been a symbol of communal harmony, now some elements are hell-bent to break this and create a communal atmosphere, and try to divert the attention of present Kashmir crisis. Nizami added some elements are trying to defame KPs for their political mileage; these pandits have been all along living as brothers & sisters with Kashmiri Muslims. Both are suffering, people living in Kashmir are caged in their houses & are struggling for basic needs. In the whole unrest there has not been a single attack on any KP, and Muslims have maintained the love and affection for KPs. “Kashmiri Pandits are a part of Kashmir society, nobody in Kashmir is against them. Kashmiri Muslims are not communal but BJP and its local collaborators are trying everything to give the present crisis a communal colour by spreading fake news and videos on social media,” he added.
