Accusing the National Conference Working President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of trying to break the ranks and dividing the mainstream camps in the state the Government Spokesman and Education Minister Nayeem Akhter here on Sunday said that Omar Abdullah despite being the senior most politician in the state is not rising above the considerations of government formation in Jammu & Kashmir.Talking to KNS Akhter said “Omar Abdullah did not grow as head of the government and is not growing in opposition. He was irresponsible in running the affairs of the government and is equally irresponsible as leader of the opposition”. Alleging that both National and Congress took collectively decisions without referring them to any section of the society the Education Minister said these decisions taken by National Conference and Congress are still biting the people in Jammu & Kashmir state.

Saying that Omar Abdullah is the most experienced politician in the state now as he has been a Parliament Member, a Union Minister in the Vajpayee Government and Chief Minister of the state the Education Minister said “we expect better from Omar Abdullah but he is trying to break the ranks and divide the mainstream political camp just to whitewash his own sins”.

On the question of raising the demand for stopping use of lethal weapons like pellet guns in crowd control policing by Omar led opposition delegation during its meeting with the President of India Pranab Mukherjee the Education Minister said “though the opposition has right to raise such public issues of grave concern at the highest level but the initiative would have got the weight and prestige if Omar Abdullah would have started this initiative immediately in 2009 or after 2010 in the backdrop of the experiences of 2008 and 2010 turmoils”.Regretting that Omar Abdullah is playing politics the Education minister said “This is not the time for government formation so where comes the question of change of guard in the state. The politicking over the present situation won’t serve the interests of the state as a collective effort by the people of all shades and opinions is required to resolve the long pending issues for restoring peace and normalcy in the state”.
