‘Pakistan violates ceasefire in Machil sector’

India and Pakistan armies on Saturday morning exchanged gunfire at Machil sector along Line of Control, a police officer said here.The officer claimed that Pakistan army ‘violated ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing’ on Indian posts this morning at 8. “The Indian side retaliated and the gunfire exchange continued for nearly 45 minutes,” he said.The officer added that there was no loss of life in the firing. “Later the situation normalized,” he added. The officer meanwhile said that a trooper namely RP Chaday of 246 Field Regiment died after his service rifle went off accidentally during patrolling today.(GNS)
