70th Independence Day : I-Day celebrated at Poonch

Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat unfurled the National Flag on the 70th Independence Day celebrations here at Sports Stadium. He took salute at an impressive march past presented by the contingents of J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, NCC, Band of 93 infantry Brigade, QRT Commandos and students various educational institution of the district.Thousands of people from various parts of the District attended the function.  Deputy  Chairman Legislative Council   Jahangir Hussain Mir, MLA Haveli Shah Mohammad Tantray, Member Legislative Council Shahnaz Ganai, former legislature ch  Bashir Ahmed Naaz, Deputy Commissioner Poonch   M.H Malik, SSP,  J.H Johar besides religious leaders prominent citizens, Judges, Members of BAR, Media persons  and officers from civil and Police administration also attended the function.Addressing the gathering, the Minister called upon the people to maintain communal harmony and cooperate in  the implementation of development  policies of the Government.He said the government is committed to provide accountable and transparent administration to the people and develop Jammu and Kashmir into a model state through   a sustainable development process.  The Minister also highlighted the Government initiatives taken to catapult the developmental scenario in all the regions of the state.
