Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh,  who was in Solan to preside over the 70th State Level Independence Day  Function celebration  laid wreath as a mark of tribute to the martyrs of the district at Shaheed Samark at Chambaghat in Solan.Later he also hoisted the National Flag, ‘The National Monument’, measuring 121 feet, at Jawahar Park, in Solan, today. As of now this is the tallest National flag in the State set up in the memory of Late Shri Bansi Dhar Aggarwal, a renowned social worker of the district. A sum of around Rs 10 lakh was sponsored by the family members of late Sh.  Bansi Dhar Aggarwal, for the Nations Pride monument, who was also a life time member of Red Cross society and had remained the President of Aggarwal Sabha, Solan.Deputy Commissioner, Solan Shri Rakesh Kanwar had been instrumental in setting up two similar National flags, one  at Baddi in Solan district and the other in Kullu while serving on same designation.
