A state-level function to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Karnail Singh Issru, the first Punjabi Martyr of ‘Goa Liberation Movement’ would be organised at village Issru, near Khanna (District Ludhiana), tomorrow. This grand function would be attended by Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and entire Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party leadership.While reviewing all the arrangements, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat said that all arrangements for organising this function successfully have been put into place. He said that keeping in mind the high number of people attending this function, strict security arrangements have been made. The Deputy Commissioner said that all officials have been assigned their duties and showed satisfaction over the arrangements.

SSP Khanna Mr Satinder Singh informed that for the smooth flow of traffic, a few diversions would be put into place. He informed that for the traffic coming from Khanna side and going towards Malerkotla, it would be diverted from Bus Stand Ikolaha village and would pass through villages Naraingarh, Rajewal, Rohno Kalan and Rohno Khurd and would turn towards Malerkotla from T-Point of village Nasrali.Similarly, the traffic coming from Malerkotla side and going towards Khanna, would be diverted from T-Point of village Nasrali near Government Senior Secondary School and would pass through villages Nasrali, Karaudiya, Ghurala-Kamma, Chakohi side/Faizgarh and turn towards Khanna. The heavy traffic from Khanna to Malerkotla would be diverted from Malerkotla Chowk in Khanna and would pass through Bija, Payal and Malaud. Mr Satinder Singh informed that ample parking space has been earmarked for vehicles and urged all those coming to attend this function to fully cooperate with the officials on duty.Today's meeting was attended by Ex-MLA Mr Ranjit Singh Talwandi, Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board chairman Mr Santa Singh Umedpuri, besides senior officials from all government departments.
