Punjab to be first state in country to ensure hassle free travel to people on highways: Sukhbir Singh Badal

“The Punjab Government has constructed 150 Railway Overbridges (R.O.B.) throughout the state during past 2 years so as to provide strengthened infrastructural and transportation facilities. Punjab would be the first state in the country to ensure hassle free travel to the people on highways.”      Disclosing this at a grand rally held at Maryland resort after laying the foundation stone of an R.O.B. at kachehri chowk on Barnala-Moga road , to come up at a cost of Rs. 52.98 crore, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the SAD-BJP government has done matchless development in Punjab during past 9 years. He also disclosed that the works pertaining to providing clean drinking water, sewerage, streets, drains and street lights in 160 cities of the state are continuing on war footing with work in 100 cities set to be completed by the next 2 months. He also announced that Rs. 30000 crore would be spent on the holisticly developing and transforming rural and urban areas in the course of next 5 years with 100 percent sewerage, drinking water and cemented streets in all the rural areas.

S. Badal further added that Punjab government would install solar lights in the 1000 villages in next 2 months besides opening of the free medicine shops. Elaborating more, he said that the state government would operationalise 300 skill training centers in the state in next 2 months where every year 1 lakh youth would be provided job centric training in different trades. Coming to the farmers loans, he made it clear that as per a law enacted by the Punjab Government, any farmer availing the loan of Rs. 1 lakh would not be made to pay interest exceeding Rs. 1 lakh.The Deputy Chief Minister further stated that the Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal is the real messiah of the farmers of state and has waived off their tubewell bills. Now, backward classes also along with Scheduled caste households would get the facility of 200 unit free power. He also disclosed that in the near future needy women from the poor sections would be provided with sewing machines.

Launching a sharp attack on the congress, S. Badal described it as a party indulged in loot of the state with no achievement in its kitty. He said that AAP is a conglomerate of so called leaders who do not have even a semblance of respect for any religion and is misguiding the people of Punjab through blatant lies but the Punjabi people have now seen through its devious game and its dual policies and would give a strong reply through ballot. He further said that if these people came to power then the success journey of the state would come to a halt there and then and the farming sector would have to contend with the problems of non-lifting of their wheat & paddy.On the occasion, Sant Balbir Singh Ghunnas, Vice-Chairman Planning Board Rajinder Gupta, Vice-Chairman PEDA Kulwant Singh Kanta, District Co-ordinator Gurpreet Singh Banawali, District President Paramjit Singh Khalsa, Sanjiv Shourey, Chairman Rupinder Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner Bhupinder Singh, SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor, Engineer Gurjinder Singh Sidhu and Raminder Singh Dhillon were also present.
