Sukhbir Singh Badal lays foundation stone of overbridge on Bathinda-Dabwali road

Wrote to Union Government on requisite changes in Prime Minister Crop Insurance scheme

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today laid the foundation stone of railway overbridge, to come up at a cost of Rs. 70.73 crore, at Bathinda-Dabwali road here and said that the Punjab government has got more than 150 railway bridges constructed during previous 9 years and in coming two years the bridges would come up at the railway crossings on the major roads of the state.After laying the foundation stone along with Public Works Department Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Sarup Chand Singla, ex-member Lok Sabha Bibi Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, Mayor Balwant Rai Nath, Chairman Improvement Trust Dayal Dass Sodhi, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab is setting new standards of development with each passing day and is far ahead of other states in terms of various developmental parameters.In reply to a query, S. Badal said that some suggestions regarding requisite changes in the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance scheme have been sent to the Union government in writing and the Union government would soon be approached in this matter.

Taking on AAP, the Deputy Chief Minister said that this party is in league with extremist elements who are extending it monetary help. He said that the hard earned peace of state would not be allowed to be disturbed at any cost and the atmosphere of communal harmony would be maintained. He also reiterated that the nefarious designs of anti-Punjab forces who are out to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere, would be thwarted.Regarding AIIMS, he said that it would prove beneficial to both Punjab as well as neighbouring states and people would get top class medical facilities. He divulged that the decision concerning foundation stone of AIIMS would be taken soon so as to enable the work to begin as early as possible.S. Badal further said that the SAD-BJP alliance believes in the politics of development whereas opposition parties are only up to spreading lies.On the occasion, Chairman Tejinder Singh Middukhera, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Basant Garg, SSP Swapan Sharma and Dr. Om Prakash Sharma were also present.
