Member of Parliament Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma today chaired the first meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) to review the pace of various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district for the welfare of the common masses.Speaker J&K legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Chaudhary, MP Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas, MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma, MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Gupta, MLA Marh Sukhnandan Kumar, MLA Bishnah Kamal Arora, MLA RS Pura Gagan Bhagat, MLA Chhamb Krishan Lal, members of the Committee including Mansa Ram, Meela Sharma and Sunil Sharma, besides a galaxy of officers of various departments were present in the meeting.The committee took a detailed review of various centrally sponsored schemes including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana - NRLM, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya – Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU- GKY) , Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme (NRLMP), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and various other schemes.District Development Commissioner Simrandeep Singh apprised the committee regarding the current status of all the centrally sponsored schemes going on in the district.He informed that under MGNREGA, cent percent expenditure has been incurred whereas for PMAY-G, 106 households have availed the benefit of this scheme and for current financial year the target has been set at 3,338 households.
He also informed that some schemes like NRuM and NSAP are at planning stage whereas for PMFBY state level committee deliberations are under process and for PMKSY district plan worth Rs 1,337 crore has been submitted to Central Government for approval, PMGSY is in progress through Phase-I to Phase-VI and NRDWP has reached its phase VI.It was informed in the meeting that under MGNREGA, Rs 952.89 lakh were released for Akhnoor, 1961.58 L for Nagrota, 484.07 L for Bishnah, 692.18 L for Gandhi Nagar, 877.82 L for Marh, 531.56 L for Raipur Domana, 227.26 L for Suchetgarh, 425.50 L for RS Pura and 534.90 L for Chhamb in 2015-16. Under it a total of 4228 development works related to water conservation, water harvesting, renovation of traditional water bodies, protection works, land levelling and sanitation were completed.The Chairman was informed that under IAY, a total of 1,006 households were completed in the district including 153 in Akhnoor, 287 in Nagrota, 92 in Bishnah, 40 in Gandhi Nagar, 106 in Marh, 48 in Raipur Domana, 23 in Suchetgarh, 131 in RS Pura and 126 in Chhamb in 2015-16.
Under National Social Assistance Programme, 12,845 people took benefit of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, 649 widows were benefitted under Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, 90 persons were benefitted under Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme and 1,449 families took benefit of National Family Benefit Scheme.It was informed in the meeting that under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Housing for all - Urban), J&K Housing Board has conducted the survey of the Jammu city and has identified 35,873 beneficiaries under different components of the scheme.He also elaborated that 100% expenditure for SBM-G and 92% expenditure for BADP scheme which is active in border areas has been incurred in the district.
Talking about NLRMP, the DDC said that under this scheme, Chowki Choura and Khadda Wallan have been taken up for digitization of land records along with computer generation of land records.Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma stated that the purpose of this meeting is to monitor and optimally achieve the envisaged goals of centrally sponsored schemes and to bring efficiency in their output for welfare of the common masses.He further directed the officers of various departments to work with synergy for ensuring that the ongoing schemes get completed within the stipulated time frame. Public must be encouraged to play their role in the successful completion of these schemes and avail their optimum benefit, he added.Chairman DISHA said the government aims at ensuring equitable development of all the regions and is imperative that all stakeholders partake and strengthen these initiatives .
