Shiroamni Akali Dal MP from Anandpur Sahib and the Party General Secretary Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra today demanded registration of case against senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler of money laundering and winning over the witness. Surinder Singh was a prime witness in the case of his alleged involvement in the November 1984 anti-Sikh violence in Delhi in the wake of assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He raised this issue in the Lok Sabha during Zero hour on the basis of some CBI papers that are part of the investigation done by the agency in the case against arms dealer Abhishek Verma.Prof. Chandumajra produced the papers from the file of that case to hammer the point that Tytler sent Rs 5 crore through hawala to win over prime accused Surinder Singh whose son he had helped settle abroad.

The Akali Dal MP pressed for the registration of  the case under money laundering and winning over the witness on the basis of the CBI investigation in the Abhishesh Verma case. Verma, he said, was close to Tytler too.He regretted that despite several commissions having been constituted over the period, the Sikhs were still to get justice as no major accused  responsible for the massacre had been punished. The massacre was engineered by the senior Congress leaders. Now some of the cases that have been closed are being re-investigated by the Special Investigating Team.It may be mentioned that Tytler had been given appointed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi as party General Secretary incharge of Punjab recently. However, the appointment had to be cancelled as his alleged involvement in the anti-Sikh violence re-surfaced.Prof. Chandumajra demanded that the new evidence should be investigated after registering the case against him as it had been unearthed by the CBI rather than being any vague allegation.
