Reacting to the Prime Minister’s assertions about Kashmir unrest, the Congress today said that Prime Minister should participate in a debate on Kashmir in the Parliament rather than making Statement in Public Rallies. The Party feels that Prime Minister instead of breaking his silence during the rally in Madhya Pradesh today should debate and discuss the current unrest in Kashmir in Parliament with opposition, but this is unfortunate that Prime Minister breaks his silence after 31days of the turmoil that too during a rally in Madhya Pradesh, in which he did not even express a word of sympathies for the innocent people their precious lives during the unrest in the Valley. Prime Minister knows that Kashmir is burning, but he doesn’t seem to be serious about the turmoil, even no serious efforts to put an end to current unrest were made by the Centre Govt under Narinder Modi, which is highly unfortunate and shameful.

Expressing surprise over the assertions of the Prime Minister, the PCC Spokesperson said that Prime Minister need to address the issue politically rather than speaking in a rally on Kashmir. The Prime Minister’s attitude is very unfortunate, the Spokesperson said.Terming the statement of Prime Minister as not people friendly, he said the Prime Minister should have spoken about the loss of innocent people also and should have expressed his sympathies for the Kashmiri people, besides extending every help to injured people. He said the Chief Minister had personally gone to appeal Prime Minister to break his silence on Kashmir Problem, but this is unfortunate that the plea of Chief doesn’t seem to have received any positive response from Prime Minister and the Centre Govt continues to behave as there was nothing serious happening in the Valley. The Chief Minister’s visit and her pleas to Prime Minister had not yielded results. Lashing out at the attitude of the Prime Minister about the Kashmir and Kashmiri People, the Spokesperson blamed Prime Minister for not looking as serious as he should have been about the losses caused due to current unrest, even the Prime Minister did not express a word of sympathy for the people who have left disabled permanently during the current unrest.
