Minister of State for Finance, Planning, IT, Law, Justice, Parliamentary affairs, CA&PD , Tribal affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation, Labour and Employment Ajay Nanda on Monday directed the Reasi administration to ensure time bound completion of developmental projects taken up in the district.“The completion of project within the stipulated time not only benefit the people but also prevent cost escalation” he asked the officers while chairing a meeting held to review the progress on development projects taken up in the district under various sectors.District Developmental Commissioner Ravinder Kumar, ADDC Bhawani Singh Rakwal, ACR Abdul Sattar, CPO H.L. Sharma heads of all line departments attended the meeting.Reviewing the physical and financial achievements registered in different sectors during the current financial year, the Minister stressed upon the departments to work in close coordination for hassle free implementation of developmental and welfare schemes.
He stressed on holding regular camps to create awareness among masses about schemes aimed an social and economic growth of people in rural and urban areas. “Holding of awareness camps is imperative for effective implementation of schemes as people in far-flung areas could not avail the benefits of the various Government schemes due to their ignorance” he asserted. Stressing on the need for better sanitation and cleanliness, Nanda directed the concerned municipality authorities to launch cleanliness drive at Reasi and Katra towns. He sought the cooperation of all departments in making the district clean and urged them to participate in the cleanliness drive whole heartedly. Earlier, the District Development Commissioner apprised the minister about the targets and achievements of the various departments. The Minister was also informed about the physical and financial progress reports of various developmental projects. Later, the Minister also held a meeting with the Railway officers to review the ongoing Railway projects in the district. He asked the concerned authorities to give preference to the local youth in employment.
