Functioning of Sheep Husbandry Department reviewed

Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Departments, R.K Bhagat today reviewed the implementation of Centrally Sponsored and State Sector Schemes in Jammu region here at a high level meeting of the department.The meeting was attended by Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr Sant Ram, Joint Directors, District Sheep Husbandry Officers, Assistant Project Officers and Heads of different sections.The secretary reviewed the implementation of various schemes including RKVY, NLM, ASCAD, ATMA, ESVHD, RIDF. The Secretary stressed on effective implementation of the schemes   to uplift the socio-economic status of the farmers associated with sheep and goat rearing.He stressed on timely delivery of services to the farmers and breeders to achieve the targets set by the department. He further emphasized upon the officers to redouble their efforts for development and growth of livestock sector as it plays a vital role in increasing the rural economy.
