“The SAD-BJP Government has contributed to the record development in Punjab during previous 9 years and the hat-trick of SAD-BJP alliance in 2017 assembly polls is the need of the hour to ensure that the pace of development is not slackened because Congress & Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have adopted an anti-Punjab posture and the leaders of these parties would put an end to the developmental story and destroy Punjab.”Disclosing this here today at the new Dana Mandi for free distribution of bicycles to the school girls under Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Captain Amarinder Singh led congress regime did not account for a single progress oriented project worth remembering during its entire tenure of 5 years. Taking on AAP and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal, S. Badal said that AAP leaders are totally ignorant of the social, political and cultural scenario of Punjab and AAP is a band of anti-religious people who are hell bent upon vitiating the hard earned peace of the state. He also brought to fore that whereas AAP leaders are accused of sacrilege of religious texts, they have also backstabbed the Punjabi’s on SYL and whole lot of other issues.
Elaborating more, S. Badal said that Punjab is churning out super success stories with each passing day which is evident from the state being surplus in power and the road infrastructure being strengthened. He said that Punjab has witnessed the developmental and progressive phase only when the SAD-BJP combine has assumed the reins of the state. He mentioned shagan scheme, free health insurance scheme, free distribution of bicycles, free power to the farmers as among the shining achievements of the SAD-BJP government. He announced that all the villages in the state would be given the facelift during next 5 years at a cost of Rs. 30000 crore on the SAD-BJP combine assuming reins of state for the consecutive third time and also all the streets and drains of all villages would be concretized.Describing the SAD-BJP as growth oriented with development in all spheres high on its agenda, the Deputy Chief Minister informed that this government has given the maximum number of jobs to the youth. He also said that the recruitment in the police is also being carried out on the basis of merit alone.
Coming to the field of sports, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab has made a mark for itself in sports due to the untiring efforts of the state government which is quite clear from the large number of Punjabi players in the Indian squad going to Rio Olympics. He expressed confidence that in the coming era, the number of players from the state would witness further increase with the aid of the Punjab Institute of Sports (PIS).On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister distributed bicycles to the 300 girl students and said declared that this year more than 3 lakh bicycles would be distributed to the girl students. Earlier, ex-MLA Jagjivan Singh Khirnian welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister and placed certain demands of the area to which the Deputy Chief Minister assured to look into and resolve them through soon to be conducted sangat darshan at samrala.Among others present on the occasion were Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Adviser to the Chief Minister, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Chairman Beopar Mandal Madan Lal Bagga, Chairman SS Board Santa Singh Umedpuri, SGPC member Kirpal Singh Khirnian, former MLA Ranjit Singh Talwandi, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat, SAD Youth leader Yadwinder Singh Yadu, District President BJP Bikram Singh Cheema, Secretary BJP Ranjit Singh Heera and other SAD-BJP leaders.
