Expresses grief over fresh killings

The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Thursday hailed the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that Kashmir is a vital and main dispute between India and Pakistan.In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said Kashmiris are proud to have Pakistan as a well-wisher and advocate and the role played by the country vis-a-vis Kashmir is noteworthy.He said Mr Sharif’s remarks that Kashmir is the main pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy are “the voice of the hearts of Kashmiri people”.Shah also expressed gratitude to Pak Premier on calling upon the country’s diplomatic corps to “canvass opinion in world capitals on J&K and to tell them that the Kashmir issue is not the internal matter of India".“Mr Nawaz Sharif’s remarks epitomise the pain and suffering the Islamic Republic of Pakistan feels for the oppressed people of Kashmir. We had time and again urged the country’s leadership to direct its envoys to highlight the plight of Kashmiris worldwide; now we are satisfied over the country’s endeavours,” Shah said.“We hope Pakistan continues such efforts till Kashmir issue is not resolved as UN resolutions or through trilateral talks (between India, Pakistan, and genuine representatives of Kashmir),” he added.

Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson while expressing grief over the killing of two persons in Lethpora and Chattabal by forces said Indian occupational forces are not to maintain peace in Kashmir but to play a bloodbath here.“We are extremely grieved over the martyrdom of Farooq Ahmad Kuchhay and Riyaz Ahmad Shah. No one is safe till Indian forces rule the roost in Jammu Kashmir,” he said.The spokesperson lamented over the cold and unsympathetic approach shown by the international community on Kashmir situation saying if a single killing takes place in Europe, the whole West and UN raises hue and cry whereas the blood of Kashmiris is cheap before their eyes.The spokesperson reiterated his appeal to people of following the programme issued by the Hurriyat leadership while thanking the people of Chenab Valley for taking out mass protests in support of Kashmir people.
