Asking the Center government to break its silence over the present unrest in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said that Jallianwala Bagh like situations are being repeated in the Valley every day.“The way British used brute force on unarmed protesters at Jallianwala Bagh in 1919, forces in Kashmir are repeating the same in Kashmir every day. Why are unarmed protesters targeted by the forces in every nook and corner of the Kashmir,” Hakim Yasin asked in a statement to KNS.The PDF chief expressed surprise and concern over the silence of central government over the present crisis in the Valley. “I am at loss to understand why government of India thinks that everything in Kashmir is normal. It is different situation than 2008 and 2010.”

“Still there is time for New Delhi and the J&K government to take steps and immediately stop the killings in Kashmir. Otherwise the situation can go out of control which would be disastrous,” he warned.Hakim Yasin urged the government to appoint a present high court judge to probe the excesses committed by the forces in almost last one month. “It is proper time that the government appoints a commission headed by a sitting high court judge and fixes the responsibility of killings,” he said. The PDF chief urged the central government to initiate an unconditional dialogue with the separatists at the earliest. “There is no way out but to talk with all the stakeholders of Kashmir problem. I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modiji to invite separatists for a dialogue so that the situation in Kashmir can be brought back to normalcy. New Delhi should also hold a meaningful and time bound dialogue with Pakistan over Kashmir as was done during Atal Behari Vajpayeeji’s tenure,” he demanded. (KNS)
