The Punjab Government‘s decision to make Majitha new Sub Division is a step towards providing all government services to people near their door steps. Punjab Cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister S.Parkash Singh Badal has given approval to make a Sub Divison.Disclosing this here today Mr. Bikarm Singh Majithia who is also a legislator from Majitha constituency thanked Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal for increasing the status sub Tehsil Majitha to Sub Division that too on the historic martyrdom day of great freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh Ji .Mr. Majithia said that this long lasting demand of the people of this area has been fulfilled which was being ignored by earlier governments from last 50 years. He said that this was also his personal desire to make Majitha sub division which has been made possible by the Punjab government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh badal.
He said that now Majitha will now have one permanent post of SDM and Tehsildar besides other government officers which will provide government services to the people of 93 villages of Kanaungo Circles of Majitha, Kathunangal and Pakhar which include 31 patwar circles at their door steps whereas earlier people had to travel to Amritsar for these services.He further said that this will also create more direct and indirect job opportunities for youth of the area and all segments of the society will benefit in a big wayfrom this development.Majithia said that Majitha city which has been developed as model city will now achieve more heights of prosperity and development. He said that before 2007 people starting migrating from Majitha but now the scene has been totally changed with development of the city made by Akali-BJP Government and now people prefer to stay here and are flourishing their businesses here.
Mr. Majithia said that he is representing Majitha constituency since 2007 and focused on the overall infrastructure development of Majitha. He said that ultra modern tehsil complex is being constructed here with the cost of Rs 3 Crore which will soon be dedicated to the people. He further said that 220 KW grid was upgraded, Grain market has been developed and given a new look, upgradation of schools, Sewage, drinking water, RO facilities, construction of Concrete roads, new offices, link roads and four lane road from Majitha to Amritsar are the development works carried out by the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP led government in the constituency. He further said many more development works are going on in the city.In the end Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia again thanking Punjab Government said that he has fulfilled his commitment with the people which will help in taking Majitha to new heights of development and people of Majitha will benefit a lot from this development.
