5th Annual Sports Meet-12 organized at GGS-Sachdeva Group

GGS-Sachdeva Group of Institutes, Gharaun, today organized “5th Annual Sports Meet-12″ in the college campus. Around 500 Students of B.Tech (CSE, IT, ECE) participated in this Sports meet. The sports meet was flagged off by Surinder Pal Singh Sachdeva, Chairman, GGS-Sachdeva Group. The Function commenced with lamp lighting ceremony by Dr.Ravinder Khanna, Principal, Sachdeva College of Engineering for Girls & followed by a March Past by the students. While inaugurating the Sports meet, Surinder Pal Singh Sachdeva, Chairman, GGS-Sachdeva Group called upon young and healthy sportspersons to develop a thought process and physical strength to accept the future challenges of present competitive era. He further said that sports makes human beings strong and teaches them to assess defeat and achieve victory. He further motivated the students to inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship, maintain discipline in life and continue bringing laurels to the institute at national and international levels.“Discipline and responsibility are values learnt by students while participating in sports” said by Dr.Ravinder Khanna, Principal. He further added that Sports keep us mentally alert and fit. The main highlights of the event were 100 m & 200 m race, Long Jump, Shot-put, Discuss throw, Relay, Sack Race, One leg race & three legged race etc. Baljeet Kaur Monga, Managing Director, GGS-Sachdeva Group gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated them. Speaking on this occasion she said that sports contribute an important role in process of building the personality of a student. She also advised the students to adopt game spirit as a life style element.The results of “5th Annual Sports Meet -12″ were 100 M RACE 1st Sriya 2nd Sima 3rd Mandeep ; 200M RACE 1st Sima 2nd Namrata 3rd Priya Puri ; LONG JUMP 1st Jaspreet Kaur 2nd Priya Puri 3rd Mandeep Kaur ; One leg Race 1st Savita Thakur,2nd Madhu,3rd Priya ; Sack Race 1st Savita ,2nd Meenakshi, 3rd Jyotsana; Discuss Throw 1st Anita, 2nd Natasha ,3rd Madhu ; 3 leg race 1st Savita & Seema ,2nd Asha & Sonika ,3rd Shilpa & Sukhpreet ; Shot – Put 1st Shafa , 2nd Radhika,3rd Ramandeep ; Relay 1st Mandeep Kaur, Priya Puri, Amandeep kaur & Ramandeep Kaur , 2nd Kirandeep Kaur,Pratibha , Lakhwinder,Sarvjot,3rd Salekha, Harpreet, Gurpreet & Champa .
