Five killed in Thane building collapse

Five persons were killed and 12 injured on Sunday when a two-storey dilapidated building collapsed in Thane district's Bhiwandi town, an official said.Another 10 persons were rescued but at least a dozen more were feared trapped in the debris. Rescue operations were underway, the official added.The incident occurred in Gaibinagar locality famous for its powerlooms, around 35 kms north of Mumbai.
