Problems related with Punjab Govt., PTU and AICTE were discussed during the meeting.Expressing his views on this matter Manjit Singh, Chairman, Doaba Group   condemned the government’s decision of levying taxes on educational institutes. There is 95% contribution of private institutions in providing technical education and in a way these institutions are creating employment opportunities and playing a vital role in the development of the country. The Government should immediately remove the tax levied on various institutions.Dr.Rohin Sachdeva, Lala Lajpat Rai Group added that Punjab Government instead of supporting the institutes was charging commercial charges of various types. He demanded that the Educational Institutes should be exempted from all type of taxes so that they can survive and maintain high educational standards.Dr.Anshu Kataria, Aryans Group while addressing the conference said that the various commercial charges including change of Land use (CLU), External Development Charges (EDC), Commercial Electricity Charges, Commercial Transport Charges, Stamp Duty etc. had immensely burdened these institutes.

It was decided that a delegation of PUTIA would meet VC, PTU on 19th and would apprise him about the problems being faced by technical intuitions. It was also decided to approach state government with problems and would request to draft admission policy 2013 well in advance.
