Sikh Community Should Boycott Congress-Sukhbir Singh Badal

SAD Will Also Examine The Possibility Of Legal Course Of Action Against Congress, Amritsar City Bus Service Inaugurated

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal toady called upon the the Sikh community to boycott the Congress in the wake of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's brazen admission that Congressmen were involved in the 1984 riots.Talking to newsmen after inauguration of the city bus service here today, Mr Badal said it was condemnable Rahul Gandhi did not even bother to tender an apology to the community for the genocide. He said while Rahul Gandhi had added insult to the injured sentiments of the Sikh community, his utterances had given a ground to the court to take suo moto action on his confessional statement which was nothing short of a self admission of the barbaric crimes of Congressmen in anti Sikh genocide. The SAD president also asked if the Congress government was aware of the involvement of Congressmen in the 1984 riots why it had not bothered to put them behind the bars? In reply to a question he said that Shiromani Akali Dal would examine the possibility of legal course of action against the Congress.

Ridiculing Mr Gandhi for his hollow claims to punish the guilty Congress leaders who were involved in the riots, 

Badal said the ones who were actually the prime movers behind the Sikh carnage were always intentionally shielded and defended by the Gandhi clan. “Failure to punish the guilty of 1984 massacre and rewarding killers with high offices shows the real side of the Congress”, he said.Earlier, Mr. Badal informed that within a period of two years the holy city of Amritsar would be transformed into the most beautiful city with the state of art infrastructure. He said an investment to the tune of Rs. 2,000 crore would be made in the city in two years to achieve this transformation.He said that in the coming month foundation stone of the prestigious Rs. 600 crore project of Metro Rapid Bus Service would also be laid. Adding further he informed that the tenders for the same have been floated and within a year and a half the Metro Buses would run overhead as well as on ground in the city.

Inaugurating the Amritsar city bus service, Deputy CM said that in the first phase of this project costing Rs. 48 crore, 41 buses out of total 150 buses, would ply on 3 routes in the city. The fleet includes AC low floor buses, Semi Low Floor, non-AC and Standard AC and non-AC Buses.The buses of the Amritsar City Transport Service Ltd. would run from Doburji to India Gate via bus stand, Hussianpura Chowk, 4S Chowk, Rattan Singh Chowk, Distt. Courts, Circuit House, Railway Station, Putlighat, Khalsa College Chowk, Chheharta Chowk; Doburji to Meera Kot via Sultanwind Chowk, Dharm Singh Market, Railway Station, Sadar Thana, Saroop Rani Govt. College for Women, Hartej Nursing to Meera Kot and the third route will be from Indian Oil Corporation Petrol Pump Verka to Mandir Baba Mulla Ji, Byepass Verka, Bijli Ghar Verka, Vijay Nagar, Dental College Chowk, Bus Stand, Ram Bagh, Durgiana Mandir, Khazana Gate, Chattiwind and back.Mr. Badal was accompanied by Local Bodies Minister Punjab Mr. Anil Joshi, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Inderbir Singh Bolaria, Mayor Mr. Bakshi Ram Arora, Mr. Sunil Chatra Director ACTL Company, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ravi Bhagat and Commissioner Corporation Mr. DPS Kharbanda.
