DC reviews preparedness of Independence Day Celebrations

District Development Commissioner, Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today convened an officers meeting to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of Independence Day Celebrations-2016.The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned to gear up men and machinery well in advance and put all necessary arrangements in place as per past practice.It was given out in the meeting that the main function would be held in Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar where National Flag will be unfurled, followed by the march past comprising  the contingents of BSF, CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest Protection Forces, NCC cadets and  students would participate in the parade.The function will start with the presentation of Shahnai wadan early in the morning.The other arrangements which were discussed include security, seating arrangements, Medicare facility, drainage, power, drinking water, installation of PAS and other necessary arrangements.Among other, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Additional S.P Security, Joint Director Information, Kashmir and Chief Education Officer, Srinagar attended the meeting.
