Swaraj’s statement is a very old rhetoric of India about JK: Syed Ali Geelani

‘It reflects the arrogance of power of this country’

While terming the statement “entire Jammu & Kashmir is ours” issued by the Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj as the arrogance of power of this country, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that it is a very old rhetoric of India about the Jammu & Kashmir and which is just based on the military power. While terming the Kashmir related statement of Sushma Swaraj as her political bankruptcy, Syed Ali Geelani said that if she is true in her claims then why is India afraid of holding referendum in Jammu & Kashmir and why are their paid local agents hiding behind the more than 10 lakh armed forces. Syed Ali Geelani said that the Kashmir is a disputed territory and Kashmiri people are struggling against the Indian forced occupation since 1947 and this fact is known to everybody but the Indian rulers are scared to face this truth and they have become habitual of ignoring the ground realities and facts with regarding to the Kashmir. Syed Ali Geelani advised the policy makers and the rulers of India to see the writings on the walls and said that the facts never change just by closing the eyes or ignoring the facts. 

The pro-freedom leader also advised the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to revise the history and said that the region which she is talking about is an internationally acknowledged disputed territory regarding which the UNO has passed about 18 resolutions favoring free and fair referendum in the state to which India is also a signatory.While out rightly rejecting any two-party dialogue process between India and Pakistan in solving the Kashmir issue, Hurriyat (G) Chairman said that the two countries have held more than 150 rounds of talks till date but no progress has been made with regarding to the permanent solution to the Kashmir dispute. Syed Ali Geelani said that India must show seriousness and boldness in accepting the disputed nature of Kashmir and must make sincere efforts in finding out a durable solution to the Kashmir issue in accordance to the washes and aspirations of its people so that the peace is restored in the region.
