NC demands restoration autonomy, review committee for pellet guns

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today met main political parties in the backdrop of the ongoing unrest and invitees pitched for “sustained dialogue” with separatists, restoration of mobile and internet services, and constitution of a review committee on use of pellet guns.National Conference led by working president and former chief minister pitched for restoration of autonomy to the state.Sources while disclosing this to KNS revealed that the decision to make the announcement to cool the tempers in valley has been taken in the back drop of the meetings Home Minister Rajnath Singh held today with the mainstream political parties including the opposition National Conference, Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone, Chairman Peoples Democratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Chairman Democratic Party Nationalist Ghulam Hassan Mir and CPI (M) Secretary M.Y. Tarigami.

Sources privy to development said that National Conference delegation led by its working President and former Chief Minister Omar represented among others by Abdul Rahim Rather, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Chowdhry Mohammad Ramzan, Sakina Itoo, Nasir Aslam Wani and Shameema Firdous demanded immediate restoration of mobile & internet services, constitution of committee on use of pellet guns, restoration of autonomy on the resolution passed by Jammu & Kashmir assembly in the year 1997 and a sustained dialogue with the separatists.Talking to KNS National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said, “Home Minister assured the National Conference Working President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to look into the demands of his party very seriously. 

Omar Abdullah lodged a strong protest with the home minister over the response of the central government to the resolution of autonomy passed by the state assembly in the year 1997”.

Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone held a separate meeting with the Home Minister and during the course of his deliberations with the home minister he sought immediate attention of the government over the concerns of the people at grass roots.He told the home minister that present unrest have put up a more severe challenge than the turmoils witnessed by the state in the years 2008 and 2010.He stressed for resolution of basic issues permanently but not temporarily.Chairman Peoples Democratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Chairman Democratic Party Nationalist Ghulam Hassan Mir and CPI(M) Secretary M.Y. Tarigami in their separate meetings with the Union Home Minister also sought immediate restoration of mobile & internet services, constitution of committee on use of pellet guns and sustained dialogue with the separatists including Hurriyat Conference.
