All Party Meeting on July 21, NC yet to decide, other political parties ready to go

A day after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti decided to convene an All Party Meeting in Srinagar on 21 July to discuss the prevailing law and order situation in the Valley, mainstream political parties are divided it.Former Chief Minister and NC Working president Omar Abdullah told KNS, “We have not taken any decision on it. I will sit with my colleagues and then only take a decision.”Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, G A Mir told KNS that it is the first step which has been taken by the government from past several days.“Except imposing curfew in Kashmir, the government has failed to take any step from past several days,” he said.Mir said that their party is trying to play their role in normalizing the situation.“Our party has already extended support to the government in normalizing the situation. Politics, probe and other things are political things and can be seen later but the basic concern at this point of time is to stop killings in Kashmir,” Mir told KNS.

President of Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and MLA Khansahib Hakim Muhammad Yasin told KNS that All Party Meeting called by the state government should have been called earlier so that the current prevailing situation could have been stopped.He said that he will go to attend the meeting as it is an issue of saving human lives. “We will attend the meeting so that the killers of civilians will be dealt with strictly,” he said.CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami while terming the development as too little too late and said that, “I will not speak anything over the development but the only thing I can say is that ‘Badi Dair Kardi Meharbaan Aate Aate’.”Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that, “as being a president of a political party I feel that we all should attend the meeting.”He said that he is yet to decide anything over attending the meeting and said, “I will sit my colleagues and will take a decision.” (KNS)
