District Development Commissioner,   Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the implementation of centrally sponsored scheme Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) here at Kathua today.While chairing a meeting held to take stock of PMAY, the DDC impressed upon the officers of Municipalities, Banks, Housing Board and District Urban Development Agency to strictly adhere to guidelines of the scheme. He also laid thrust for adopting hassle free procedure for sponsoring the cases by respective municipalities so that maximum beneficiaries can avail the benefit of the scheme. He also directed banks to speed up the scrutiny of the sponsored cases so that target can be achieved within stipulated time. The DDC constituted a District Task Force for effective implementation of PMAY.It was informed in the meeting that against the target of 150 cases under Credit Link Subsidy (CSS) component of the scheme, so far, 25 cases have been sponsored. 

Besides, the process of identification of cases under Subsidy for Beneficiary-led Housing component, which is to be implemented in Kathua and Basohli towns, is in progress.  Earlier, the State Coordinator PMAY, R.C Sharma, presented a detailed description of the scheme under which survey has been done. He said Kathua and Basohli municipalities have been selected under Subsidy for Beneficiary-led Housing component of the PMAY.  He also informed that beneficiaries of Economically Weaker section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) can seek housing loans from Banks under Credit Linked Subsidy. He apprised that process of identification of eligible beneficiaries has been done and the scrutiny work of the identified beneficiaries is in progress. SDM Billawar, CEO Kathua Municipality, PO DUDA, Executive Officers of Basohli, Hiranagar, Lakhanpur, Nagri Parole and Basohli Municipalities and District Informatics Officer were present in the meeting.
