Haseeb Drabu visits District Hospital Pulwama

Assures best possible medicare facilities to injured; Commends community initiatives in reaching out to needy

Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu today visited District Hospital Pulwama to personally take stock of the medicare facilities and also enquire about the welfare of the injured.He was accompanied by Minister of State for Forests and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad and Legislator, Mohammad Khalil Bandh.The Finance Minister is camping in district Pulwama to monitor the situation there and ensure that the people don’t face any inconvenience for want of essentials during the prevailing law and order situation.The Minister interacted with the patients and their attendants and assured them of all possible assistance from the Government. He said any patient who requires specialized treatment will be shifted outside the state by the Government.The Minister also enquired from the hospital staff regarding urgent requirement of blood, medicines and medical equipment, which he said would be arranged by the Government on priority. He said latest diagnostic facilities including an MRI machine, body analyzer other machinery would be provided at the hospital.The locals conveyed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti who had recently provided five new ambulances to the District Hospital Pulwama.The Minister hailed the commendable community initiatives in reaching out to the needy especially the patients and their attendants during the curfew and restrictions in the district. He especially appreciated the role of Baitul Maals of Pulwama, Prichoo and Washbugh in this regard.

Earlier, the Minister also reviewed the law and order situation and took stock of the supply position in the district at an officers meeting.The Minister was informed that there are adequate stocks of rations and LPG available in the district and the Consumer Affairs and the Public Distribution Department has been asked to open all its sale outlets in the district immediately to ensure that the people don’t face any inconvenience for want of rations. He also reviewed supply of power and drinking water position in the district.The meeting was told that all the employees of the district, especially those working in essential services, have been asked to report for duties immediately.The Minister also enquired about the supply position in the far-flung and remote areas of the district.On the instructions of the Minister, a Control Room has been established at the district headquarters. The Minister also visited various parts of the town and while interacting with the locals, made a fervent appeal to them, especially the youth for maintaining calm. He said the Government will address the genuine concerns and aspirations of the youth and a comprehensive policy framework would be worked out to ensure productive employment for the educated unemployed.Meanwhile, several deputations from various parts of the district called on the minister and brought into his notice various problems confronting them and their respective areas. The Minister gave a patient hearing to them and assured that the issues raised by them will be resolved on priority.District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Mr Muneer-ul-Islam and SSP Pulwama, Mr Rayees Ahmad also accompanied the Minister.
